Veracite compares references with ten scholarly and bibliographic databases and shows available evidence and unresolved findings. This page identifies the providers and explains the terms under which we use their metadata.
“Not checked” means Veracite does not check this type of reference: standards (ISO, DIN, SIA …), legal sources (court decisions, statutes, regulations) and patents are not sufficiently covered by the scholarly databases used. These entries are shown unchanged and are not assessed.
The catalogue of the French national library: French monographs, theses, periodicals and authority data. Veracite queries it to verify French-language books and publications, including works without a DOI.
Descriptive metadata is reused under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence (Etalab 2.0).
DOI registration and bibliographic metadata for scholarly articles, books and conference papers. Veracite uses Crossref to resolve DOIs and compare titles and authors.
Crossref makes its bibliographic metadata available without restrictions on reuse.
DOI registration for research datasets, software, preprints, reports and other grey literature. Veracite queries it to verify cited datasets and non-traditional research outputs.
Metadata is dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0.
Life sciences literature, including PubMed records, provided through a service operated by EMBL-EBI. Veracite queries bibliographic metadata to verify biomedical and life science references.
Rights in abstracts and full texts remain with the respective publishers and authors; Veracite uses and displays bibliographic metadata only.
The German National Library catalogues publications issued in Germany and German-language works from other countries. Veracite searches its SRU service for books, editions and theses, including works without a DOI.
The bibliographic metadata is provided under CC0 1.0.
A free preprint server for medical, clinical and related health sciences. Veracite uses the official medRxiv API to verify preprints by DOI and links evidence to the corresponding record on medRxiv.
Authors retain copyright and choose the reuse licence for each preprint. Veracite uses bibliographic metadata only; reuse of article content remains subject to the licence shown on the individual record.
The open, editable book catalogue of the Internet Archive. Veracite uses it to verify books and editions, including older and English-language titles.
The Internet Archive asserts no proprietary rights over the Open Library database; the catalogue builds on library records placed in the public domain.
The OpenAIRE Graph links publications, datasets, projects and funding information across the European research landscape. Veracite queries it to verify open access publications and European research outputs.
Contains metadata from the OpenAIRE Graph, used under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Veracite extracts and matches individual records; the underlying data has not been altered.
An open index of the global research system – works, authors, venues and institutions – maintained by OurResearch. Veracite queries it as a broad-coverage complement to Crossref, including for works without DOIs.
Data is dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0.
The Scientific Electronic Library Online brings together open access journal collections, including publications in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Veracite uses it to complement the search for Iberoamerican journal articles.
Article metadata originates from SciELO and its participating journals; rights remain with the respective publishers.
